Sixth Form’s International Day

Sixth Form’s International Day was one of the happiest days of 2020! In our mission and vision to develop internationally minded students who aspire to be Global Citizens and make the world a better place, we celebrated cultural diversity and SISB’s commitment to providing students with a holistic education. We would like to thank guest speakers Wassana Im-Em, Assistant Representative of United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) Thailand, and  Ingo Puhl, co-founder of South Pole, an NGO that offers sustainability consultation focusing on climate, for sharing their wisdom with us and ensuring we focus on priorities and values central to a healthier and happier world. Highlights included the following:

  • Ceremony opening by Wassana Im-Em, Assistant Representative of UNFPA Thailand. This is the UN agency tackling issues related to the world population.

  • Closing ceremony by Ingo Puhl - co-founder of South Pole. He has worked with the World Bank, is based in Bangkok, and is an expert from the United Nations Sustainable Development Group. Mr. Puhl gave a solutions-oriented talk with visuals in a TED Talk format.

  • Room decoration according to a diverse range of countries, traditional dress/food and games plus drama performances

  • An outdoor “Street Bazaar” run by the Student Council and supported by Model United Nations with information booths, student concerts, traditional dances, games, and food

  • Festive performances in the Silpapirom Creative Arts & Media Centre with singing and dancing, among others.
